Waitress (2015)

mixing it up this week to write a review of a musical. if you don’t like musicals, too bad, me neither.

i think i have seen a total of 3 musicals in my life, and that includes my high school’s production of Bye Bye Birdie. but somehow, in every stage of life, i have become friends with someone who is obsessed with musicals.

a friend who shall remain nameless (hey kel) was trying to round up a group of people to see Waitress in Indy. she must have asked me 17 times if i wanted to go and i kept dodging the question, as one does when they are being asked to do something they don’t want to do. i have to give it to this friend (what’s up, kelly) though, she is persistent. in a moment of weakness or distraction or who knows what, i said yes. on top of all that, then i had to pay said friend (kelly smith) my hard earned money for a ticket.

getting to the point now.

Kick in the Pants Pie

i actually really enjoyed it. story about a woman who hates her terrible husband, falls in love with a hot doctor, then ditches them both to do her own thing with her cute kid. what’s not to love? left the place feeling about as empowered as i did on international women’s day. and the whole place smelled like pie.

sugar, butter, flour. lgf.
