When people love, it is a train
When people love, they must be thought of as trains careening through a desert rail-road to a final destination
Consider yourself lucky if you can board the train — not entitled
The train will go, with you or without you
And if you happen to be the only passenger on the train,
or perhaps the only passenger on the first-class coach,
then don’t try to steer, or take your seat for granted
It is easy to switch to a higher-paying, well-mannered passenger,
on the next station
And the train will go on anyway, with you or without you
Where will you reach if you continue to hold on to your seat?
To a place that your lover has idealized all their life
If that scares you, pull the chain!
There are other passengers who will bless you if they took your place
Don’t believe it when they say they always wanted you
You just fill the silhouette which meets the criteria to ride the coach
The fares you paid were enough
But you are not the only one who can afford
It is easy to switch passengers regardless of where they sit
And the train will go on, with you or without you
