In Company with Cougar Greats

University of Houston senior QB Clayton Tune completed 31 of 37 passes (83%) for 380 yards and four touchdowns (and no INTs) in a 42–27 win over South Florida on Saturday.

As a result, Tune became the third quarterback in school history to pass for 10,000 or more yards in a career. He has passed for 10,120 yards, 85 TDs, and 35 INTs so far in his career.

Pretty Good Cougar Company.

Tune joins Case Keenum (19,217 yards) and Kevin Kolb (12,964 yards) as the Cougar QBs in the 10,000-yard club. Pretty good company.

He has recorded eight career 300 yard passing games, and three games of 400+yards passing.

2022 Season

The Cougars (5–3) have won three straight games, with Tune throwing 14 touchdown passes and only 1 INT over his last five games.

He has completed 70% or better of his passes in four games this season. Tune has averaged 276 passing yards per game through eight games, ranking 24th in the FBS. He also ranks 16th in total offense at 310 yards per game.

Through those eight games, he has passed for 2208 yards and 21 touchdowns, and just four interceptions (in 285 pass attempts).

Tune leads a Cougar offense that ranks 12th in the FBS in 3rd down conversions (50%).
