The Oklahoma Sooners have been a football program known for elite quarterbacks.

As you will see from this list of the top ten quarterbacks, Oklahoma has had plenty of stars at quarterback.

#10 — Jalen Hurts (3,851 career passing yards)

Jalen Hurts played for Oklahoma during the 2019 college football season. He threw 32 touchdowns while running for another 20 touchdowns. Hurts finished second in the Heisman voting in 2019 and led the Sooners to a College Football Playoff appearance. Jalen Hurts was drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jalen Hurts also made the top ten list for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

#9 — Spencer Rattler (4,595 career passing yards)

Spencer Rattler played for Oklahoma from 2019 through 2021. After having a fantastic freshman season in 2020, Rattler struggled in 2021 and ultimately lost the starting job. After the season ended, Rattler transferred to South Carolina, where he will begin playing in 2022.

#8 — Kyler Murray (4,720 career passing yards)

Kyler Murray played for Oklahoma from 2017 through 2018. He began his college career at Texas A&M but transferred to Oklahoma after one season. Murray won the Heisman Trophy in 2018 and also led Oklahoma to a playoff appearance. Kyler Murray was the number one overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft by the Arizona Cardinals.

#7 — Nate Hybl (4,916 career passing yards)

Nate Hybl played for Oklahoma from 2000 through 2002. He was the starting quarterback during his junior and senior seasons. Oklahoma won 23 games from 2001 through 2002 while losing only four games. After a professional career that took him worldwide, Nate Hybl opened his own restaurant called “gusto!

#6 — Cale Gundy (6,142 career passing yards)

Cale Gundy played for Oklahoma from 1990 through 1993. He was the primary starting quarterback from 1992 through 1993. Cale Gundy is currently the Assistant Head Coach and Wide Receivers Coach for the Oklahoma Sooners.

#5 — Josh Heupel (7,066 career passing yards)

Josh Heupel played for Oklahoma from 1999 through 2000. He threw 50 touchdowns in only two seasons at quarterback for the Sooners. Heupel was drafted in the sixth round of the 2001 NFL draft by the Miami Dolphins. Josh Heupel is currently the Head Coach of the Tennessee Volunteers.

#4 — Jason White (7,922 career passing yards)

Jason White played for Oklahoma from 1999 through 2004. White was the primary starting quarterback in 2003 and 2004. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2003 and finished third in the Heisman voting in 2004. He led the Sooners to back-to-back twelve win seasons. He wasn’t drafted due to numerous knee injuries and currently works as a businessman in Oklahoma.

#3 — Sam Bradford (8,403 career passing yards)

Sam Bradford played for Oklahoma from 2007 through 2009. In his sophomore season (2008), Bradford led the Sooners to the BCS Championship game, where they lost to Florida. Sam Bradford also won the Heisman Trophy in 2008. Bradford was the first overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft by the St. Louis Rams. He played well when he was healthy, but injuries shortened his NFL career.

#2 — Baker Mayfield (12,292 career passing yards)

Baker Mayfield played for Oklahoma from 2015 through 2017. He began his college career with Texas Tech in 2015 but transferred to the Sooners. Mayfield finished fourth in the Heisman voting in 2015, third in 2016, and finally won the Heisman trophy in 2017. Mayfield led Oklahoma to 34 wins during his career with the Sooners. Baker Mayfield was the first overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns.

#1 — Landry Jones (16,646 career passing yards)

Landry Jones played for Oklahoma from 2009 through 2012. He was the starting quarterback all four years for the Sooners. He threw 123 touchdowns during his college career. Landry Jones was drafted in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was the Steelers' backup from 2013 to 2017.
