From the 24 March 1946 to 20 February 2004 Letter From America broadcast weekly on the BBC World Service.
The longest-running speech radio programme in history, the 15 min broadcast provided a platform for Alistair Cooke, English born, but living in the States, to discuss American life, history and politics.
My goal for this collection, Letters from America, is to provide a space on this great platform to put into words, just as Cooke did, America, yet from the point of view of an outsider, living within.
