This is a very grave issue that continues to afflict the lives of countless women in India — the detrimental role of dowries in fueling a femicide epidemic.
Dowry, a longstanding cultural practice in India, refers to the transfer of wealth or gifts from the bride’s family to the groom’s family at the time of marriage.
