I’ve read ~50 comics in 2020. These are my favorites.

*The List does not include comics that are still ongoing. Great comics such as Stillwater, Nailbitter, Killadelphia, Department of Truth, Undiscovered Country and Redneck are excluded and I am quite sure that they will be in my fav list in 2021.

1 — Fight Club 3

The fans of Fight Club have the opportunity to see what is happening with Tyler and his boys. Chuck P. continues to tell us his story in comic books. This is the finale, I guess. Enjoy it.

[I know that Dark Horse Comics released it during 2019, but I have read it in 2020, so it is in the list :)]

2 — Joker, Killer Smile

Disturbing dark psychological comic (DC Comics). The story: what happens when ambitious albeit naïve psychologist tries to diagnose Joker. Written by one of the most active comic writer today, Jeff Lemire and drawn by his partner in crime, Andrea Sorrentino (Gideon Falls), you shouldn’t miss this one. Even if you are not fan of The Clown Prince of Crime.

3 — Gideon Falls

Probably the best horror comic in recent years (Image Comics). Actually, it won the Eisner Awards for best new series in 2019. The first issue was released in March 2018 and it ended with its 27th issue in December 2020. Written by Jeff Lemire, artist Andrea Sorrentino. Time-travel, religious flavor, gothic horror and full with suspense and chilling action around a black barn. Really creepy. Deep dive in the nature of evil.

4 — Hotell

Anthology horror series (publisher: the brand new AWA Studios). Similar like Twilight Zone, but horror. There is everything you need for horror fans: bloody gore, manga-like body horror, claustrophobia, psychosis, you name it. 4 issues/different stories, same universe (i.e. Hotel), one narrator.

5 — Ice-Cream Man: Quarantine Special

Another drama-horror anthology (Image Comics) that I enjoyed a lot. It’s a beautiful source of surreal, disturbing, inventive stories of everyday life with a special, usually tragic, twist. The “Covid-special” was exactly what I need for fun during the quarantines (& beyond).

One extra: Mind MGMT

Ok, this masterpiece by Matt Kindt (Dark Horse Comics) is from 2012–2015 period. But I have stumbled upon in 2020. A story of secret government agencies, espionage and psychic abilities and seemingly ordinary woman that is trying to find out what happened with the plane flight whereas every person had amnesia. If you like this topic, then Mind MGMT is a must-read. The level of creativeness here is mind boggling.

I learnt today that actually Ridley Scott started pre-production of a TV series or movie but I can’t find anything what’s the progress.
