Ann Arbor City Council: Get A Head Start On Vision Zero

Greetings Mayor Taylor and City Council,

As a resident who (mostly) gets around without a car, I have been particularly heartened by our emerging commitment as a city to Vision Zero and ending entirely preventable deaths and injuries in crashes on our streets. Other cities around the world have made incredible progress. This is entirely achievable if we muster the will to follow their lead.

We’ve already made some good progress but we all know there is still a lot to do. What we need to do is going to cost money. We have a source of money via the public safety millage rebate. And street safety is public safety. This shouldn’t be complicated. Let’s use it and save some lives and limbs. We’ve lost too many neighbors already.
