Mama Mia
Pizza from Puglia
We love pizza, and actually who doesn’t :) so we have pizza somewhere every second week. We tried I would say most of the places in town but Mama Mia was still on the list. Not that we did not try it, but we tried it so long ago that we did not remember anymore if it was good or not.
The problem came as the first time we were here the owners were not very friendly and somehow we did not feel welcome like we do at Mangia e via for example, but then again…if the pizza is good one can do an exception from time to time.
So we finally made it back. we went without a reservation and of course the place was full we had to wait approx 5 min to be seated (we were super lucky) I guess all the employees are Italians maybe even all from the family. What is interesting is that the owner is from Puglia so different type of Pizza when you compare it with the Neapolitan one.
While checking the menu we received some nice black spicy olives and some delicious I would say house bread. You have a lot of options so the choice was not easy. in the end I decided to go for the Crudaiola and was very happy with it (first picture of the post)
For Dana it is always hard to pick and it is a sort of a competition with Grety, in the end she decided for il pizzaiollo
EVG who is definitely a meat guy went for Internazionale
and Grety who is never saying what he takes so that he can bother Dana decided to go to the toilet right before the guy came to take our order…so of course our food was late :P well anyway so if we roll a bit back when we eneterd I mentioned that we had to wait and the waiting is right where the guy is making the pizzas so we could see how nice they looked and how thin the dough was and Dana was mentioning hmmmm….this aubergines and courgettes look so good so…guess what..Grety went for San Marco
EVG & Dana got wine and we had of course a bottle of San Pellegrino, at the end we got limoncello from the house.
Overall this was a very good experience and I can recommended the pizza at Mama Mia
