I have to keep in mind a lot of things. Both my work and my personal plans. As for my work, I tend to remember things better… When it comes to my own things to do — they simply vanish from my memory. Long ago, I used to make a lot of notes on stickers, then I used a planner. Now we have apps for everything. Fortunately.

So, here are the ones that I like most.

Todoist

A very simple app for to-do lists that saves me from remembering tons of everyday duties. Yes, most often, I use it not for my work, but for my personal life. I use a free version, which is quite enough for me. I have a plan for today, for my week, and so on.

Advantages:

  • Easy to use
  • Karma system
  • Paid versions are not expensive
  • Functions offline
  • All major devices
  • User-friendly interface

Disadvantages:

  • Not many features are available for free

Remember The Milk

I used it before Todoist. A very good app for to-do lists. Especially for the family use because you can share your lists and your tasks. This app has both versions: free and paid ones.

Advantages:

  • Easy to use
  • Multi-platform
  • Many features even for free
  • Intuitive interface
  • Flexible

Disadvantages:

  • The paid version is a bit pricey
  • Time-consuming

StayFocusd Extension

I mentioned this app some time ago. From time to time, I find it difficult to concentrate on my tasks. Not always, but that happens to me once in a while. Especially when I have a long period of hard work and feel exhausted. A good solution for me is the StayFocusd extension. It increases my productivity by reducing the time I spend on unwanted websites.

Advantages:

  • Easy to use
  • Helps to focus in a gentle way
  • Limits your time on an unwanted website without blocking it

Disadvantages:

  • Does not save you from the unwanted websites on your phone
  • May block unrelated websites

TimeTree — Free Shared Calendar

In my family, we often use this app as well. It is great for keeping mutual life organized and planning things together. A very useful thing to consolidate each other`s plans.

Advantages:

  • User-friendly
  • Separate calendars for different groups can be created
  • Notifications for all the members of the group
  • Highly convenient

I see no disadvantages for myself. Just a good app to keep in mind what is intended to do. I guess it can be used for teams as well, but in this case, more features will be needed.

Toggl

It is highly effective in case you are looking for time tracking of your workflow. You will see how much time you have spent on this or that task. Besides, you will see how much time you spend on particular websites. After detailed analysis, you`ll improve your productivity.

Advantages:

  • Idle detection
  • Manual time input
  • Awsome reporting features

Disadvantages

  • May take time to get used to it
  • Maybe a bit buggy

So, time is the most precious resource today. If you manage it effectively — you’ll have the possibility to be more productive.

Have a nice day!
