The Future of Mobile Phones

What will be the next big thing?

It doesn’t matter if you use iOS or Android, the amount of megapixels your camera has is irrelevant, the speed of your processor will likely be fast enough and you will probably have enough RAM. Most phones nowadays are equally as good, the one you decide to choose is just a personal preference.

Most mobile companies are making devices with larger screens, but people don’t need a large screen; tablets have filled that gap in the market. So what area should they be competing in?

If you think about it, its obvious! What’s the one thing everyone would like to be improved? Not everyone takes photos, not everyone plays games, not everyone needs 4G. There is however one thing, that they all need to work… Battery power!

You don’t want to be bound to a charger, you don’t want to have to carry an extra battery pack. Imagine if the iPhone 6 was just an iPhone 5s with a three day battery life, it would be revolutionary. We don’t need fingerprint scanners or splash proof casing, we don’t want 50 megapixel camera. We have to use a battery though!

The OS war between Apple and Google, isn’t much of a fight anymore. They both have the same apps, they both have similar features and in iOS 7 and KitKat they even look fairly similar. Innovation seems to have slowed recently, our phones already do everything we want them to, it would just be nice if they could do them for a bit longer.
