Grand Cayman’s Five Star Ritz-Carlton Has a Vision for a Stellar Future

Nobody has ever travelled to Grand Cayman expecting to have just an “OK” time. That’s because everything about the Cayman Islands, Grand Cayman and the district of George Town set stellar expectations of luxury accommodations, impeccable service, and spectacular natural beauty.

Grand Cayman has a storied, swashbuckling history deeply entwined with the sea, but today the island commands a prominent role in global finance and operates a highly successful tourism trade. The weather, the beaches and the people conspire to make a Grand Cayman stay the perfect opportunity to sprinkle business on sun-soaked pleasure.

Exemplifying the attitude that only the best is good enough, is the Cayman Islands’ only Forbes Five-Star Hotel, The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, situated on the island’s iconic Seven Mile Beach. This 369-room ultra-luxury beachfront property features five world-class restaurants, highly equipped meeting and event spaces, a world-renowned Swiss spa, and a professional-grade fitness center. The property is a haven of modern luxury with guestrooms, suites, meeting areas and public spaces that blend modern coastal elegance and British Caribbean style.

“When you attain Five-Star status, it’s difficult to give it up. So, from the moment we achieved five stars we very deliberately decided we would never let it go,” explains Marc Langevin, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. “We have such a beautiful property and an outstanding team of dedicated Ladies and Gentlemen ready to create world-class experiences for our guests each sun-filled day and star-shone evening in Grand Cayman!”

The property features the amazingly accommodating Seven South experience for guests traveling with friends, family, colleagues or an entourage. It is the largest luxury hotel suite configuration in the Caribbean and features an 8,000-square-foot, three-bedroom Grand Cayman Penthouse — plus four fabulous adjoining two-bedroom suites, offering a total of nearly 20,000 square feet of exceptional indoor and outdoor living space. The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman offers six different suite configurations from 960 sq. ft. to 2,400 sq. ft. and six guestroom configurations at 480 sq. ft. each.

Dan Gonzalez, Senior Account Manager, LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc. Commercial Displays Division and his team supported The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman with the acquisition and outfitting of 357 units of LG 55UT340H hospitality televisions in the property’s guestrooms and suites, and 42 units of the LG 65UT340H hospitality televisions in the shared spaces including lobbies, restaurants, bars and retail.

“Trust and confidence are the currencies in which we trade,” Gonzalez said. “We recognize that the hospitality client is relying on us to meet economic performance standards, to realize the ambition they have for their property, and to deliver the experience guests will have envisioned for their stay.”

LG televisions featured at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman include over 350 units of the 55-inch LG 55UT340H hospitality televisions and over 40 units of the 65-inch LG 65UT340H hospitality televisions. Each the UT340H commercial Ultra High Definition (UHD) TV Series provides hospitality clients such as The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman with a cost-effective, reliable 4K UHD TV that delivers beautiful images, a stylish form factor and versatile commercial-grade stand. A 4K upscaler automatically upgrades Full HD content to UHD through a six-step process. UHD delivers a resolution four times higher than that of Full HD, creating a more realistic and immersive television viewing experience. The stunning 8.3 million pixels create images with incredibly vivid detail. A welcome screen enables properties to advance personalization and display a warm custom greeting on the television when it is turned on.

LG hospitality televisions include USB data cloning for fast and easy configuration of multiple TVs, by creating a master TV Setup on one TV and then exporting the setup “clone” file to a USB memory device. The UT340H TV Series stores 24-hour diagnostic data, which can be saved to a USB memory device, enabling service engineers to identify technical issues quickly and easily. Lock mode blocks external input signals with non-compliant content and helps prevent the misuse of TVs in public spaces.

“The televisions are in terms of look, performance and reliability,” says Gonzalez. “But we know that having great-performing product only gets us so far with channel partners and clients. We also need to understand the business dynamics, challenges and seasons and cycles that our clients and channel partners are navigating. This is why we view the hospitality business differently than other vendors in the space and why our channel partners, clients and the LG team have such long-standing mutually-successful friendships and commercial relationships.”

LG hospitality televisions are also featured in shared spaces of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. The property exudes ambition and quality in each of these environments. Dining options include Blue by Eric Ripert specializing in local seafood and seasonal flavors, and the restaurant’s impressive wine list features more than 700 selections from around the world. The restaurant TAIKUN boasts gourmet sushi including maki, sashimi and rolls, and is complemented by the island’s most extensive selection of sake. The ocean-view Seven offers premium cuts of meat, fresh seafood and bourbon cocktails and classic Italian cuisine and casual Caribbean ambiance. And Andiamo, an al fresco restaurant, offers family-friendly dishes such as homemade pastas, pizzas, grilled seafood and freshly made gelato. The beachside lounge, Bar Jack, is appreciated for piña coladas, and Afternoon Tea at Silver Palm features bold island flavors.

Not everything at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman is considered and offered at a grand scale. That’s not the point here. The property and team elevate quality over quantity at every opportunity. The ambition here on the bleached shores of the azure-green Caribbean Sea is to offer the very best of everything in a setting where it appears perfectly natural. This property is indeed a coupling of bold ambition with natural grandeur!
