Bon Voyage!
Virgin Voyages Sets High Expectations for High Standards on the High Seas!
The attraction of cruising is obvious: journey to adventurous, interesting locations over a short period with all the micro-details looked after, while enjoying the assurance of uniformly high-quality accommodations, cuisine and activities throughout. Couple that with the generation-defining curation, entertainment and experiences that the Virgin brand is famous for and you have an exquisite offering and a compelling business.
With its new luxury fleet that includes Scarlet Lady launched in 2021, Valiant Lady in 2022, Resilient Lady to be launched in spring 2023 and Brilliant Lady in early 2024, Virgin Voyages is seeking to re-cast adult cruising just as the world re-opens for travel and adventure. Gone are traditional staples such as buffets, dining times, dress codes and kids. Instead, there’s a Redemption Spa, B-Complex Gym, Athletic Club and Squid Ink Tattoo Studio.
Scarlet Lady is a 110,000 ton, 17-deck, 909-foot floating city built in July 2020 that can accommodate 2,770 guests — or Sailors as Virgin Voyages refers to its customers — and sails from Terminal V in the Port of Miami. The 17-deck, 912-ft Valiant Lady weighs in at 110,000 tons and went into service in March this year. She also has a capacity of 2,770 sailors berthing in 1,330 cabins. Virgin Voyages third ship, Resilient Lady, sails next spring and features the same general weight, length and accommodations of her sister ships but with her own unique characteristics and entertainment. Across the ladyships, Sailors can enjoy unique and fun spaces including Sun Club Bar, Gym & Tonic, the Dock Bar and the outrageously-named Lick Me ‘Till…Ice Cream!
Cabins on each ship are luxuriously outfitted to provide a yacht-like ambiance. Most have ocean views and balconies with specially designed Virgin-red hammocks. Seventy-eight Rock Star suites aboard Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, and Resilient Lady accommodate 2–4 sailors each and come with perks such as access to Terminal V’s VIP entrance, expedited security screening and an exclusive pre-boarding lounge. Valiant Lady will summer in the Mediterranean and then reposition to Miami in the Fall to winter in the Caribbean.
LG hospitality televisions are featured in guest cabins and suites and in public spaces of both Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady. Cabins feature 32-inch LG 32LT662V hospitality television with HD video, Bluetooth Sound Sync; SmartShare and ScreenShare and voice recognition or 43-inch LG 43UT782V hospitality television with 4K UHD, Dolby Vision High Dynamic Range (HDR) and HDR10 compatibility, voice recognition/IoT and smart connectivity features including Media Share, Bluetooth 3.0. Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady suites feature LG UT Series hospitality televisions in various sizes from 49- to 55- to 65-inches depending on the suite configuration. The LG UT Series hospitality televisions couple 4K UHD with LG OLED with Infinite Contrast; Dolby Atmos cinematic sound; integrated Pro:Idiom DRM technology and EZ-Manager setup wizard for operational efficiency.
Public spaces, restaurants, bars and the fitness centers on Valiant Lady and Resilient all feature LG LGUH5H displays for entertainment and digital signage — important for wayfinding but critical for mass notification. LG hospitality televisions and digital signage displays are engineered for the performance and reliability that hospitality professionals require. Displays and televisions intended for the cruise market have specialized conformal coating applied to their internal circuit boards to help protect against moisture. The LG Ultra Slim form factors of displays and televisions are designed to align with the aesthetic of luxury hospitality and the expectations of discerning guests.
“The Virgin brand is synonymous around the world with creative innovation and excellent quality, and Virgin Voyages is no exception,” says Tracey Estes, Senior Account Manager, LG Electronics. “LG shares Virgin Voyages’ commitment to quality and innovation, which is why we’re so pleased our hospitality televisions are featured in the guest cabins, suites and public spaces of Scarlet Lady.”
Valiant Lady has more than 20 onboard dining alternatives with diverse menus, responsibly sourced foods and inclusive pricing. When sailing from Miami, Virgin Voyages ships embark on a mix of multi-night itineraries to some of the most irresistible destinations in the Caribbean including Costa Maya, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Key West, Puerto Plata, Roatán, San Juan and St. Croix. Each cruise includes a stop at Virgin Voyages’ signature Beach Club at Bimini in The Bahamas.
Virgin Voyages is gaining strong traction among its demographic and positive reviews in the media and on social media. It appears that the brand’s innate capacity to understand its audience and creatively develop adventures and experiences for audience-members has yielded another win with cruising — Virgin style!
