The Merc with a mouth….and a movie.

a personal fav

Hey you! Yeah you! Do you know who Deadpool is? Well…you should because he is f*****g awesome.

Finally after Ryan Reynolds’ tireless campaign and a bunch of rewriting and back and forth soft-core teasing that took years, like webcam foreplay with dial-up internet, we get the action we have all been waiting for.

So does it live up to the Fourth-wall breaking, insane, hilarious yet psychotic character we all know and love from the comics? OMG YES GURL!

Without going into spoilers, I will tell you this, Ryan Reynolds doesn't just play Deadpool, he literally is Deadpool. Every ounce of screen presence feels like Deadpool even before the classic red suit is shown. The references and fourth wall-breaking begins right from that first scene and throughout. Sometimes these are done blatantly and in the viewer’s face very obviously ( I.e.. directly speaking to the viewers ) but other times the smallest little quips can be fast and unexpected and those get the best laughs.

Is this actually Marvel’s most faithful/accurate adaptation to their source material yet? Surprisingly, Yes it is, despite the fact this isn't even a part of the grander MCU, lying in that Fox-Marvel zone with the X-men series and Those-who-shall-not-be-named Four reboot travesty.

But most importantly, this film works on several levels, for die-hard fans, casual fans, and even as a standalone film for the noobs. Anyone could go see this whether they know about Deadpool or they just want something to watch with friends/a date and enjoy it immensely for what it is.

I highly recommend this film and I shall be giving it 9.5 Chimichangas out of 10.

What are you waiting for? Go see it….

…no seriously go do something else, this article is over.
