Announcing the merge of our two platforms into one suited both institutional & retail clients.

When LGO was founded, in 2017, the concept of building a cryptocurrency exchange tailored to institutional needs was implemented.

Seeing the level of awareness and support we established through our Initial Coin Offering, we decided it would be beneficial for our retail community to launch a separate trading platform with the same underlying technology as the institutional one.

The platforms were named LGO Markets and LGO Exchange, for institutional and retail operations respectively. Both of these platforms relied on the same level of security, of transparency and of overall fairness.

One year later, we are excited and thrilled to announce that clients, whether institutional or retail, will now be able to trade under one unique platform. Indeed, we are proud to officially reveal the merge of LGO Markets and LGO Exchange into LGO.

What will it be?

One unique trading platform: LGO.

As we take pride in our community, we want our two types of clients to be able to experience the same level of security and transparency. We consider LGO to be a premium platform as it is reserved for institutions and retail traders who understand our value proposition of transparency and security. They also are aware of what it practically means: a software client, a hardware authentication and a hardware key storage. These are necessary to reach the standard of security we need and constitute our competitive advantage.

The vision at LGO is that of a flat market with direct market access. Hence, we’re creating the same experience for our entire fleet of users.

Why?

At LGO, we believe large and educated traders value security and transparency by design. As it is currently being demonstrated by our institutional clients, both these characteristics are valuable in a professional ecosystem. It is only logical we want to offer the institutional level of experience to our retail traders.

Additionally, we believe in flat markets in which institutions and retail traders can exchange together at scale within an efficient market.

Who is orchestrating it?

Our team, spread between Bordeaux and Marseille, is working around the clock to deliver this unique user experience. With this merge, some aspects of the team structure have changed. You’ll find the team here.

When?

The merge of LGO Exchange and LGO Markets is taking effect now. As we are launching the community platform, we will start onboarding retail clients by batch. These retail clients will have access to the same order book as institutional ones.

LGO has built and delivered a trading platform for digital assets with proprietary technology which is provably transparent, non-custodial and secure. The firm currently offers BTC / USD with additional pairs and currencies to be added in the future.
