Redefine Radiology

COVID-19 had an enormous effect on the radiology community. Hospitals, doctors’ offices and clinics found themselves overwhelmed with scans during a time when they had to redefine the healthcare workflow to keep healthcare professionals and patients safe. Looking ahead to the upcoming RSNA 2021 Show, radiologists have the opportunity to “Redefine Radiology” and its role in the healthcare system.

This year, the Radiological Society of North America will host the 107th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting in Chicago, Ill. where radiologists will come together — in-person and virtually — to re-examine the role of radiology and explore the future to come. The show focuses on delivering patient-centric care, value-based healthcare, inclusive work environments and more.

Prominent discussion topics among show attendees will be around workflow and understanding the process for healthcare imaging — from image capturing through to diagnosis. With teleradiology rising, the industry needs to closely examine the technology available to ensure remote radiologists have the tools necessary to be successful.

LG Electronics is committed to providing innovative healthcare technology. From growing telehealth demands to understanding the radiologist journey, LG’s innovative product offerings and robust team of engineers and sales professionals help healthcare facilities determine which technology is best for their workflow. The LG team is excited to attend RSNA 2021 and show its continual commitment to its healthcare partners and customers.

At booth #2559 at RSNA 2021, LG Electronics will showcase the 12MP IPS Diagnostic Monitor for Mammography featuring a Multi-Resolution Mode to easily adjust resolution between connected devices, a Pathology Mode for realistic color reproduction and a self-calibration function for consistency in medical images. LG’s line of IPS Surgical Monitors are optimized for the operating room, featuring brightness stabilization to maintain constant and consistent brightness. All surgical monitors also feature a full HD IPS display with sRGB 115% enabling surgeons to view high quality images, especially in the red color spectrum.

LG’s Digital X-Ray Detector (DXD) combines carbon-fiber with magnesium for an exceptionally strong build and an IP53* resistance rating to ensure partial protection against dust and spray moisture. With the DXD, x-ray technologists can produce thumbnail images in less than three seconds to view and send to the PACS destination.

The radiologist experience has been uniquely affected by the pandemic. A radiologist’s role within the healthcare environment will continually evolve with workflow optimization and patient-centric care featuring cutting-edge imaging technology to streamline the medical imaging journey.
