Los Angeles is a city that prides itself on diversity and great food. There are a variety of neighborhoods that cater to specific ethnic backgrounds; Koreatown, Thai Town and Little Armenia all have amazing dining options, and that’s just the start!

Topping our list is Persian Square located in West LA in the shadows of UCLA. Here are our top 5 places to eat when you find yourself in the area…

1. Attari Sandwich Shop

Attari has become one of the best go-to sandwich spots in all of Los Angeles due to its tremendous reputation and affordability. It was established over 30 years ago and is known for the tongue sandwich. All of the sandwiches are a “must try” in our opinion. The ingredients are simple; lettuce, tomato, mayo, pickle, mustard, and meat all served on a baguette.

2. Café Glace

Attention all pizza lovers! This is your spot, the home of Persian pizza. Persian pizza differs from the traditional American pizza in a few ways. Firstly, there is no sauce. It is recommended that you utilize either ketchup or ranch. The common toppings are; green bell peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, mortadella and sossi. Much different from your tomato sauce, cheese and dough. If you like pizza even the slightest bit, we recommend you check this place out.

3. Saffron and Rose

Who doesn’t love ice cream? Los Angeles loves ice cream, especially Persian ice cream. With flavors that you can’t find at Cold Stone or Baskin Robbins it is a place you can’t miss. When you find yourself at Saffron and Rose, we definitely recommend trying the pistachio and saffron. With no preservatives or artificial flavors you will be able to taste fresh ice cream with hints of rose water which you can’t find anywhere else.

4. Shamshiri Grill

From Thai Town to Persian Square, Shamshiri has continued to be one of the go-to spots for Persian food. With a fairly large menu they have dishes that cater to all tastes, even vegan. We recommend giving it a try and going outside of your comfort zone. The lamb neck is amazing!

5. Farsi Café

Do you love Persian food but don’t have time to wait? This is the place for you. Farsi has a short lifespan but has developed a reputation as the go-to to-go restaurant in Persian Square. From ice cream to kebab, they have everything you need to fulfill your cravings at any time of the day. You can even do a bit of grocery shopping if you have the time!

Short but sweet! This is our list of the top spots in the very well-known Persian Square. There are many more that we didn’t note but you will have to find out about those on your own! If you find yourself in the area, take a seat and expand your horizons. If there is anything you would recommend to us, please feel free to email us at Home@LHspaces.com.
