Los Angeles is home to some of the most beautiful beaches on the West Coast, not just Santa Monica or Venice. Depending on your idea of a beach day, you may like the crowds of tourists and residents that flock to the beaches of West LA. We’ve put together this list of must see beach spots you’ll want to be sure to visit.

1. Zuma Beach (Malibu, CA)

Zuma Beach, located in Malibu, California, may be one of the busiest and most popular beaches in Los Angeles. Located off of the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway, it offers the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Aside from the perfect location, Zuma is known for its surf, space, and sunsets.

2. Will Rogers State Beach (Pacific Palisades, CA)

Will Rogers is the go-to beach for all Westside residents due to the free parking (shh it’s a secret) and the substantial lack of crowds. This spot is perfectly hidden between Santa Monica and Malibu providing the perfect amount of seclusion from outsiders, allowing endless volleyball and basking in the sun for all visitors. Will Rogers also provides an on-site restaurant for those who choose to spend the day.

3. Malibu Surfrider Beach (Malibu, CA)

Do you surf? Welcome home! Surfrider is the next best surf spot north of Huntington Beach. From morning to night, you can find the best waves of the Westside right here. After you get done surfing, you can head over to Malibu Farms and enjoy some of the best fresh cooked food Malibu has to offer.

4. Dockweiler Beach (Vista Del Mar, CA)

Dockweiler is known for being the only beach in Los Angeles that allows visitors to hold bonfires. The local college students often hangout at this beach in the evenings to enjoy the sunset. It is also home to the local hang gliding training station if you like to test the limits.

5. Toes Beach (Playa Del Rey, CA)

Toes is located near LAX in Beautiful Playa Del Rey. While relaxing on the beach, getting some sun, you can watch the planes take off from the runway all day long. This is another beach that lacks crowds, but is within walking distance to Muscle Beach in Venice. With bike paths and volleyball courts, what more do you need? Oh, and it is pet friendly.

If you enjoy your fair share of beach days, we recommend checking out these spots before deciding which is you favorite LA beach. You cannot go wrong with these 5! If you have a favorite beach that we didn’t feature, please let us know! You can reach us at Home@LHspaces or (323) 746–4554.
