Politicians, Please Send Us Some Scraps
President Trump crashed the stock market earlier this month after he tweeted: “I have instructed my representatives to stop negotiating until after the election when, immediately after I win, we will pass a major Stimulus Bill that focuses on hardworking Americans and Small Business.” His tweet showed millions of Americans that he would hold them, hostage, for the sake of re-election.
Donald Trump dangled the promise of a stimulus check over America the way a dog owner would dangle a treat over a dog. Once the dog did the trick, he or she would be rewarded with the treat. In this case, the trick that Trump wants the American people to perform is to vote to keep him in the White House for another 4 years. In this one tweet, the President showed his contempt for the American people.
Seeing that the market had dramatically dropped following his tweet, our genius President Trump reversed course and tweeted:
“If I am sent a Stand Alone Bill for Stimulus Checks ($1,200), they will go out to our great people IMMEDIATELY. I am ready to sign right now. Are you listening Nancy?”
