She suddenly feels empowered. She takes a deep breath and…
Eyeliner and lipstick, blush and eye shadow, used to cover the tops of our vanities
Hair brushes and pretty flowers, highlights and sweet perfumes, used to adorn us quite naturally
Shopping and laughter, tea sets and tea cookies were what we would look forward towards the end of our day
A rare date with our husbands, family outings, burgers and chips as we admired our children at play
But now those days are gone, we retired our makeup, instead we wear our own blood and tears for blush
But it’s not just you men, us women we must fight too, our history speaks louder than us
Ya Khawlah, Ya Nusaybah, Ya An Nisaa, Ya Umm Ummah it’s indeed time to stand up
Raise your hands to AL Wali , secure your hijab, scream out to your Lord “YAAA RABB”

Men of Gaza don’t cry, you did what you could, this religion is not yours but indeed HIS
Know when you can’t anymore, we will hold up your swords, our wombs carried the likes of Khalid bin Waleed
When you can’t anymore we will hold up your swords, remember our bodies birthed this Ummah’s seeds
Men of Gaza don’t cry we will meet you in Jennah and return to our dresses and embroideries
We will loosen our hijab, our scarves will blow as we pass, our perfume will be your only memory
On reclined couches we will lay, our only question we will ask, is
Habibi would you like milk or wine?
But for now in this world, as the battle goes on, let your heart be brave, Allah’s promise will
