From the Indigenous lands of Boriken, our angst is palpable — on the faces of la juventud (the younger generations), in the hearts of decades-long freedom fighters and on the minds of those who truly want a kinder world.

A thousand miles away — in our [second] colonizer country — I sense the same is happening, as the sexist, racist, narcissistic person will soon enjoy a second term in office.

While the 2024 elections I’m referring to are specifically related to the occupied, colonized, stolen Indigenous lands of Puerto Rico and the stolen Indigenous land of the U.S., I am confident the effects are of a global nature.

To say millions of us around the planet are in distress is an understatement.
