So if I were to create a bulleted list that describes my worldview:

  • Self-ownership is a simple principle that allows for the most equal autonomy possible.
  • Adopting the principle of self-ownership requires arrangements between each individuals domain (life, body, justly acquired property) to be based on consent.
  • Consent creates a dynamic for reciprocity, accountability and knowledge in our social and economic arrangements.
  • When compulsion is used instead of consent accountability, reciprocity and knowledge are diminished
  • Electoral Politics often come down to coalitions warring over the privilege to compel others to their ends.
  • Fear/hate/resentment is a useful tool for winning elections in the short run creating a dynamic of factions competing over who can better create fear/hate/resentment among 51% of the population against the other 49%
  • This dynamic is amplified as political power grows and is centralized and begins tearing apart at social and economic arrangements in society as distrust becomes widespread.
  • The Libertarian Party is the only political force not fighting for the privilege to compel using fear but to restore the individuals self-ownership through a hopeful message of empowerment
  • While hope can be harder to sell than fear, giving people hope and faith in their own agency will restore societal trust and the benefits of consensual arrangements in society if successful.
