Hello again to our brilliant Liberty Gaming community! We’re back with another edition of Community Focus, the series that allows us to interview our incredible scholars and learn about their lives and time within the Liberty Gaming scholarship program. Often we hear heartwarming and inspiring stories from people with many different backgrounds, and this time promises to be no different!

Everyone’s favourite coach, Discord manager and interviewer, Jorge Chois, returns, this time travelling to Ecuador to meet a particularly special scholar who has achieved some outstanding accomplishments in such a short time. Ready? Let’s dive in and see what insights today’s interview can offer us all!

Jorge: Hello Liberty Gaming family, we hope you are all doing well! Let’s meet Andrea Vera Macias, our guest of the day.

Welcome and good morning Andy, how are you?

Andy: Hello Chois, good morning, I’m fine although a little nervous, the truth is, this is the first time someone has interviewed me, haha.

Jorge: I’m glad to hear you’re okay, Andy, don’t worry, we’re family, relax.

I’m happy to have you as a guest today! Let’s start with some questions for our community to get to know you better.

Tell us, where are you from?

Andy: I am from the beautiful and small country of Ecuador, from the city of Guayaquil, to be more exact.

Jorge: It is magnificent how our community has no borders, a scholar from Latitude 000, half of the world, from the neighbouring and beautiful country Ecuador, full of friendly people.

How old are you?

Andy: 22 years only.

Jorge: Thank you very much for sharing with us, pretty young!

How would you describe yourself in a few words?

Andy: I consider myself friendly and talkative, especially when I am already confident with my friends. In the beginning, I am perhaps a little more introverted and reserved, but when I already know people, I go the other way. I like to be responsible with the commitments I make and work in, and I’m good with teamwork if the environment isn’t toxic.

Jorge: I am a witness, you are very kind to your colleagues, and you do very well with teamwork. Toxic environment? We don’t know about that here in Liberty Gaming! We are always willing to help each other, hehe.

What are your hobbies, your favourite activities?

Andy: I know Liberty has a very healthy environment, I’ve fallen in love with it since I arrived, haha.

I love reading and writing a lot, I am the type of person to whom you give a book, and you do not hear from her for the rest of the day. I also like to play the guitar although I am still learning and I had to stop doing it a little because of the responsibilities that I currently maintain. In terms of sports, I have practised basketball, soccer, volleyball, swimming, and horseback riding for a season, but my favourite of them is undoubtedly swimming and horseback riding.

Jorge: I love this space, getting to know you all better always strengthens our bonds, I was not expecting your love for horse riding.

What is your big dream or goal, short or long-term?

Andy: My big and long-term dream goal has always been to be able to travel to different countries in the world with my family without money being a limitation, getting to know other customs and cultures is something that I love very much. My short-term goals are to be able to live as a freelancer completely with the multiverse of P2E NFT games that has a lot to give, and copywriting, which fits a lot with my love of reading and writing.

Jorge: You are on the right track! One of the reasons why I couldn’t resist inviting you is because of how quickly you acquired multiple opportunities within Liberty Gaming.

How did you discover us, and how long did it take you to get the scholarships you currently have at PlaceWar, Sidus Heroes, and GenoPets?

Andy: I discovered Liberty by talking to a friend who had a PlaceWar scholarship, he sent me the invitation to join (thanks, Eli), and the truth is I spent about two weeks on your server, but I just filled out the form, and that’s it haha. Another friend of mine, well known on the Spanish Channel, Mr Frank, recommended me to attend the coaching sessions and without a doubt, it was one of the best things I could do.

Counting from the moment I took it seriously by attending the coaching sessions, it took me only a short time. I won the GenoPets account inside a coaching session contest, that was the first one, and right after that, I got the PlaceWar account. Those were two in less than two weeks, and a few days later, the Sidus scholarship arrived! I am sincerely impressed with what can be achieved in Liberty in such a short time

Jorge: Excellent, Andy, 3 scholarships in less than 3 weeks is surprising! You already told us about the atmosphere of our community, but what is your work environment like within Liberty Gaming?

Andy: I love my three scholarships, but the truth is, the one I enjoy the most is Sidus, precisely because of the group I work with. The guys I met in the Liberty Gaming Sidus team were very kind to me and included me very quickly as soon as I arrived. It was not difficult for me to establish a friendly atmosphere with them, and it is without a doubt the best team I have had the opportunity to work with, in addition to the fact that you, Chois, as a coach, have been very kind to me, teaching me how the games work and how to get the most out of each, which I greatly appreciate.

Jorge: I’m here to help you all, more than happy to do it, thank you very much, Andy, what a nice statement! I agree, our scholarship group is really fun.

Maybe it’s a bit early to ask this question since you’re somewhat new to our community, however,

How did having these scholarships with Liberty Gaming change your life, or how do you think it will change it?

Andy: Liberty came into my life after a somewhat difficult economic time, the scholarships that I got gradually gave me back that hope of knowing that everything always improves. In the future, I am sure that it will be a fundamental piece of my economy and process to be able to depend 100% on being a P2E Freelancer.

Jorge: Come on, let’s go, Andy!

Last question, with your experience as a Liberty Gaming scholar, what are the 3 pieces of advice that you would give to a person who has just arrived in our community and wants to be a scholar like you?

Andy:

1. Always be kind and respectful, since Liberty is a community that always seeks to maintain that type of environment, harsh or disrespectful behaviour is very noticeable and can delay the process of obtaining scholarships.

2. It is necessary to demonstrate your commitment to the community, being active and attending the coaching sessions helps a lot.

3. Have a lot of patience because not all processes are the same, liberty is growing, and, normally, waiting times can extend a little longer.

Jorge: Andy, thank you very much for your time, for your support, great sense of responsibility, and for sharing more of yourself with us! You are always willing to get involved and help your peers and have given great advice to all those who aspire to become Scholars within Liberty! It was an honour to have you as a guest, good luck!

Thank you all for joining us, best wishes and take care!

Securing three separate scholarship accounts in three weeks? Now that is an impressive feat! Andrea is just another example of what can be achieved within Liberty Gaming with the right drive, passion, and backing of our incredible teams and coaches. Once again, a story of financial hardship was turned around through the opportunities presented within P2E and the GameFi space. I think we can all learn a lesson or two from Andy!

Continue to follow our Journey as we progress through this evolution of Web3 and the pioneering of blockchain gaming. As our community grows, we will have many more stories such as this, and we want you all along for the ride!
