Do You Believe in Love/Afterlife?

I believe in Love like I believe in God.

I mean I want to believe there’s a power behind it all,

But her sense of humor is a bit odd.

I believe in a happy ending

With flowers and all my love ones, music and fun

But reality is still hard and never ending

I believe at the end we’ll all find peace

Whether solo or happily betrothed

The worms still will have their feast

If God is Love and I’m alone

Does that mean I’ve lost my way

If I’m digging through Tinder like a dog with a bone

Should I take a pause to pray?

I believe there is no way to prove that either thing exists

You can give all the examples you want

Their history is full of wars, death and fists

Both have blood on their hands

Though the circumstances differ

Both have brought so much good

Though one’s results tend to be stiffer

I believe one day I’ll know the truth of either topic at hand

The results will destroy me or build me up

But hey, at least I’ll understand

Until then I take it day by day

I’ll try to see the clues

I’ll choose to believe I’m on the right path

For now I’m just stuck paying dues
