What keeps our team running?
Whether you’re on the dance floor or in the office, you can tell a lot about a person by looking at their shoes. So that’s what we did.
Even the most serious of professionals like to express their personalities somehow. Often, it’s through their wardrobe. We lured a few of them away from their laptops to see what footwear allows them to freely traverse our open-plan office.

They are very colorful!
I bought them in Amsterdam at a store called Sneakerdistrict on a whim. My boyfriend really liked them. They’re so ugly they’re cool [totally agree].
And they look quite new.
That’s because they’re just five months old.
Do you keep them happy?
Yes, I don’t wear them to parties (yet).
What happens when you put them on?
I feel a little bit tougher than usual.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
[After thinking really hard] 25.

What are these called?
Old school Austrian army boots.
When did they conquer your feet?
They’ve been in my possession for about a year, but they’re really old. I bought them at a vintage store in Amsterdam because I needed a new pair.
They look like they get a frequent polish.
I try to polish them every two weeks, but i could be more consistent
How do you feel when you wear them?
I feel like hiking through an alpine forest and yodeling.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
I own three pairs of shoes [it took a while, so this number was surprising].

So how did you meet?
Stumbled upon them in May 2017. In London. Love at first fit. Couldn’t let them go.
Do you treat them well?
Yes. I almost never wear them outside.
What happens when you wear them?
I feel very feminine. Isn’t that the reason we buy these shoes?
How big is your shoe collection?
Not big enough.

They sure are. It’s a pair of Celine lace up Oxfords.
How did you find them?
I saw them on Instagram & immediately jumped on my bike to get them (at Kiki’s Stocksale in Amsterdam).
Any special occasion?
I bought them for myself for my 31st birthday.
Do they get enough TLC?
Yes, but I could give them a bit more attention with shoe polish.
How do you feel when wearing them?
They’re seriously comfortable, so I forget I’m wearing such flashy shoes. People remind me by looking really shocked or commenting on them.
How many shoes do you have?
I have no clue. Let’s keep it at a lot.

I bought them at Scapino about two years ago.
Do you treat them well?

I bought them two and a half years ago at a sample sale when I worked there [Adidas].

Reasonably well [they look brand new!]

I feel flashy.

Yes. I have 15 pairs. Some of them I never wear.
