How GO-JEK Empowers Culinary SMEs

A study by University of Indonesia’s Faculty of Economics and Business Demographic Institution on GO-FOOD found that GO-JEK’s ecosystem accelerates the growth of culinary SMEs in Indonesia. More than 250,000 culinary SMEs have joined the GO-JEK ecosystem through GO-FOOD since its launch in 2015.
Culinary SMEs joining GO-FOOD range from those having less than Rp. 1 million per month, to over Rp. 15 million per month in capital size, with 70% of them experiencing a 26% increase in turnover. The study also found 70% culinary SMEs feel inclined to go digital due to GO-FOOD.
Furthermore, GO-FOOD SMEs merchant partners also saves up to 30% of their operational costs since joining the ecosystem, as they benefit from GO-JEK’s fleet for delivery.
In addition to that, transactions within the GO-JEK’s ecosystem are digitally recorded and therefore make for a better bookkeeping. These documentations can be further utilized to support their bank loan application. The GO-JEK ecosystem also promotes SMEs popularity, which as a result helps pave their way into a wider market.
