Our team’s interest in the Mits-Brains Hackathon started when it was first announced. Given the current COVID situation we wanted a break. A weekend where we could spend quality time trying to solve a problem instead of creating fresh ones like we usually do in our weekends.

So, we came up with the team name, it took an approximate 30 seconds to arrive at the name, “Underdogs of Asgard”. We immediately registered with our team.

Then came the day of the competition. We started working on it immediately and even though two of our team members were in different states respectively, we immediately started using the resources offered by Mitsogo, to discuss the problem in question.

Soon after our initial meetings were done, I was glad that we were in sync with what the problem had for us, and what we had to do.

We were offered to solve the persisting problem of asset management (smart objects & accessories). We immediately decided that we had to treat them all as dumb objects, and at the same time, we refined our solution over the course of the next day and a half, to arrive at the perfect solution.

Even if the problem we were challenged with was tough, the solution and implementation had to be the simplest and at the same time should be the most foolproof method.

Once we finally arrived at what we wanted to pitch in we started working on the presentation, and we were pretty happy with ourselves that we had perfected our idea to the very ultimate.

Then while presenting it, our idea was welcomed by the panel, and my team was in proper sync to explain our idea. In the end, we are really happy that we won.

This was a chance to take us back to the happier days, where we could use the grey matter to its maxed out possible capacity, and we are glad that we were rewarded for it.
