“Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same.” — Carlos Castaneda

Referring to Carlos Castaneda’s quote above, how much does the happiness level of work mean to you?

While you are thinking about the answer, this article would give you an overview of how we at Moka balancing our work and fun at office.

If Mokateers asked to imagine one’s ordinary working day at Moka, you might get different answers since each role believes in a different way of work.

One would say that it is where they arrived at 7 am in the morning. Prepare a cup of tea to be brought upstairs — as a company to answer some calls, hearing problems, and deliver the best solutions to our merchants.

One would portray that it is when they walked in through the front door at 9 am wearing niche clothes, polished shoes, and well-combed hair to attend an important meeting with a high-level third-parties.

One would describe that is where they showed up at office 11 am with a t-shirt, training pants, and sandals. Carry a backpack with a cup of ice americano in his right hand.

Another one would come up at the office early in the morning not to answer some calls nor attend a meeting, but to have a bowl of cereal while listening to one’s favorite music, checking emails, and writing today’s to-do-list.

If you asked, which one is true? Well, every description is true.

But, one description that everyone will nod here at Moka is, Mokateers appreciate the leisure between work. Out of all the seriousness in greasing elbow to deliver the best for businesses, we find happiness in between work, maximize a few things that we have, to keep the productivity level balanced.

Like we like to grasp the giggles amongst employees, we make use of the comfortableness of the bean bag at our hall to rest, we share our evening snacks — or even fight when Martabak comes, and we maximize our foosball and ping pong table to play it at lunchtime.

Because at Moka, we believe that it’s not about the suit or the time check-ins, it’s about delivering our promises. It’s how we hold on to responsibilities and appreciate the freedom to make the most out of our work. Like how it stated in one of our core values; It’s Not Done Until It Ships.
