To celebrate our recent place on the Parity.Org Best Companies for Women to Advance List 2021, we wanted to take a moment to share some of the things that we are most proud of when it comes to gender equality and advancing opportunities in the workplace for our employees.

At KeepTruckin, we are led by an Executive Team that fully understands that in order to reach gender equality, we need everyone’s participation. Creating diverse and inclusive teams is what will help us adapt, innovate, and grow to be a generational company that far surpasses our competitors. “Embrace Diversity” is a core company value that remains paramount to every member of our Executive Team and they strive to demonstrate this on a daily basis.

Our Leadership Team also understands that we have room to grow and have identified opportunities for gender equality. In particular, we are working on hiring more women in leadership positions here at KT and have been fortunate to have Shu White and Izzy Knopper among several others join the KT team in the past few months.

Our HR team and management team is laser-focused on retaining our top talent, through inclusive team training, employee resource group events, inclusion round tables, and other learning and development programs. And, throughout our hiring processes, we have implemented specific strategies to control for bias and recruit and hire women at KeepTruckin.

Additionally, we celebrate women’s achievements all year long, all over the globe. A few things we’re focusing on:

  • Sponsoring the Remarkable Women @KT Employee Resource Group
  • Sponsoring our employees to attend events like TedX Women, Women in Product conference, Pakistani Women in Computing, Women in Technology, Lesbians Who Tech, Sistas in Sales, Latinas in Tech summit, and more
  • Hosting events aimed at accelerating both personal and professional growth for our female employees.
  • Mentorship meet-ups dedicated to our employees’ growth and fostering lasting relationships
  • Equal pay audit twice a year
  • Disrupting Bias Training for Hiring managers
  • Diverse interview panels and Improved Reporting on Applicant Flow Demographics
  • Adding our company values as core competencies in candidate reviews and standardizing interviews
  • Reviewing mitigating bias in all job descriptions
  • Implementing revised Rooney Rule for Manager and above positions (which requires 50/50 gender diversity in the final candidate slate)

With the implementation of these strategies, we are striving to mitigate the inevitable bias that is within all of us and amplify the voices, stories and accelerate the success of all the Remarkable Women at KeepTruckin!
