Meet Hassaan Shah — People Operations at KeepTruckin
Making sure things run smoothly for 2,600 employees (and counting!) is no easy feat. We are lucky to have an amazing People Operations team to make sure every employee at KeepTruckin has the resources they need to succeed. Read on to learn more about one of our People Operations team members, Hassaan Shah.
First things first, can you tell us what your responsibilities are as a people's operations specialist?
My main responsibilities are to onboard new employees through our weekly New Hire Orientations, introducing them to the KT culture and ensuring they have access to necessary resources and tech; support employees on a day-to-day basis and answer questions about company policies, and modernize and digitize outdated HR systems.
How does the People Operations team take care of our employees at KeepTruckin?
People operations is a business function that puts employees first. While we sit under the HR umbrella, the KeepTruckin People Operations team has a broader scope: it involves all actions that help employees be productive at work, from conducting off-boarding surveys to training and development to taking care of their company rewards and benefits.
Sounds like you’re busy! And how do you make sure every new hire is effectively onboarded keeping in mind the values of KeepTruckin?
A successful and effective onboarding involves proactively covering The Four C’s which I really believe in. This stands for compliance, clarification, culture, and connection. Compliance includes teaching employees KT’s basic legal and policy-related rules and regulations. Clarification refers to ensuring that employees understand their new jobs and all related expectations. Culture is a broad category that includes providing employees with a sense of KT’s organizational norms — both formal and informal. Connection wherein a new employee develops relationships with the other members of the organization and begins to feel like part of the team. This includes interactive icebreaker activities which really open up conversations with our new employees.
What brought you to KeepTruckin?
Well, there were many factors that contributed to my joining this organization which mainly consisted of the healthy KT company culture, individuals being empowered and given the opportunity to grow, and exceptional leadership where leaders are involved and engaged.
What are you most looking forward to in the coming months at KeepTruckin?
I believe that the sky’s the limit for us. If we’re able to retain the culture and momentum we currently have I think there is nothing stopping us from being the most sought out technology company in the world and being a part of this journey is what I look forward to.
