We sat down with Cindy Li, Product Manager at KeepTruckin, to learn more about her greatest challenges, greatest accomplishments, and more. Read on!
Cindy, can you tell us a little about your role?
Yes! My name is Cindy Li and I am currently a Product Manager on the Compliance Team at KeepTruckin. I’ll be hitting my 3-year KT-versary soon! My journey at KT started in Customer Success, where I worked as a Customer Success Manager to maintain and build great relationships with our customers and advocate for our users. Now, as a Product Manager in Compliance, my focus is on ensuring that we continue to build great products, ensure our customers remain in compliance and help unlock new market opportunities with projects like the Canadian Mandate Certification.
My greatest accomplishment has been:
Transitioning to a role in Product with no prior technical experience. It’s been a wild ride these past few months, but it has been extremely rewarding being able to work more closely with our Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, GTM teams. I especially feel proud of being able to take on a great responsibility with understanding our customer’s pain points and releasing features that solve their problems.
My greatest challenge has been:
Shifting my mindset from a one-to-one approach to a one-to-many approach. When I worked in Customer Success, I always believed that the customer is always right and would do everything that I can to ensure their satisfaction. However, being in Product has helped me realize that the decisions I make have long-lasting implications that go beyond a few customers but can affect the entire userbase. While I still highly value the conversations and feedback I receive from customers, I now take a step back to think about the bigger picture and how the overall impact will be.
My role model is:
In high school, I had a counselor with whom I was very close. He went above and beyond his job as a counselor by building meaningful relationships with his students, genuinely looking out for them, and being a great mentor. I aspire to be like him because I hope that my relationships drive long-lasting impacts with those that I meet and can leave deep impressions on people’s hearts.
My message to my younger self would be:
“Appreciate what you have before it turns into what you had.” Things can change in a matter of time, you don’t want to take things for granted and make sure to live the life how you want to live and don’t be afraid of the future.
My favorite thing about KeepTruckin is:
There are many things that I love about KeepTruckin, but if I had to choose one thing, I would have to say my colleagues are my favorite thing. I am extremely grateful to my colleagues who have become like a second family to me. Being able to work alongside intelligent, hard-working, and supportive individuals has been amazing. I especially enjoy how we all look after one another, lift each other up, and am grateful that they have helped me grow both professionally and personally.
If I were an owner/operator of a fleet, I would want to transport:
General Freight — Transporting goods across the country has always been a pillar and such an essential part of the American economy. It’s become even more prevalent with the shift in dynamic due to COVID with more individuals working from home and ordering goods online.
