5 Tokopedia interns share their experiences.

Tokopedia has internships all year round to give students the opportunity to experience roles before they commit to full-time careers. Interns make up a key part of the Tokopedia team and are encouraged to take on projects at Tokopedia and. We value our interns’ and their contribution. In the past, some intern projects have become the genesis of larger projects or permanent initiatives in Tokopedia.

We asked five interns from different divisions to share their story with us.

Raka Aditya, Software Engineer Intern

“My team trusted me to contribute to some projects at Tokopedia. However, one of the memorable moments was seeing all nakama (Tokopedia’s employee) worked on Tokopedia Shake-Shake — a new gamification feature that Tokopedia launched in Ramadan Ekstra 2018. I feel proud to see millions of Indonesians used Tokopedia Shake-Shake enthusiastically.”

“I got the chance to learn many things beside coding in Tokopedia. Our division has ‘sharing session’ where the tech team gather and learn together about the system and programming language which are used by Tokopedia. I believe these types of practical knowledge are hard to be learned in universities.”

Nabila Sekar, Finance Intern

“Being a Finance intern at Tokopedia is fun. The office environment is very comfortable and motivates me to be productive while doing invoice processing. I’m constantly surrounded by green view and young colleagues. Tokopedia also cares for its employees and we get never-ending surprises. We often have various events and Nakama and interns get a lot of perks. The last but not least, Tokopedia holds ‘Fresh Friday’. There are plenty of free snacks in the pantry every Friday!”

Arvan Fadhlurahman, Social Media Intern

“I was given the responsibility for managing the concepts of Tokopedia social media content. Not only did the content planning, I also documented Tokopedia’s signature events. For example, I did the social media live reporting for Tokopedia’s IG TV during MakerFest and met with legendary band, Sheila on 7, famous Youtuber, Arief Muhammad and beauty vlogger, Tasya Farasya.”

Gheafany Putri, Business Development Intern

“My team and I created Business Canvas Model (BCM) and planned for Tokopedia’s feature development. One project that I am proud of was when my team and I created a proposal for the Topchat pre-launch feature and forwarded it directly to Tokopedia CEO, William Tanuwijaya. I am grateful for this experience and the opportunity to contribute on Tokopedia’s feature development.”

Nadira Ramadhani, Graphic Design Intern

“I design publications for social media and Tokopedia’s website. Being in this position is a pride and a challenge at the same time. I need to be one step ahead in designing, and learn to be productive while maintaining high attention to detail how to create a design with great output and carefully. After my designs are published, I feel so proud. Thousand pairs of eyes are seeing my designs and appreciate them on Tokopedia’s Instagram account.”
