How was your Ramadan? We hope you had a wonderful holy month and an even better time gathering with loved ones and celebrating the success of 30 days of fasting with tasty food during Eid.

Now that Ramadan is over, our team has gathered some transaction trends that dominated the fasting month. We discovered some interesting details that we would like to share with you!

One of our significant findings was that shoppers were eager to receive their purchases in a quick, timely manner, as shown by the fact that 40% of Dilayani Tokopedia orders used the Instant Delivery service during Ramadan.

We also noted a high demand for hampers, which became one of the three top-selling products on Tokopedia Nyam (Tokopedia’s food campaign). Someone even sent a box of hampers from Jakarta all the way to Jayapura, covering a distance of >3,500 kilometers and demonstrating that not even distance can quell people’s eagerness to share with others during Ramadan.

In the spirit of sharing our blessings, we also gathered over Rp 5 billion in zakat and donations from our users throughout the holy month. As usual, these will be distributed by Tokopedia’s trusted partners, and all the donors will be updated personally on the distribution progress.

Not even distance can quell people’s eagerness to share with others during Ramadan.

Ramadan truly changes people’s needs. From our data, for example, we found that food products — especially items that don’t take long to cook — were popular orders on Tokopedia NOW. The top three products on Tokopedia NOW were rice, instant noodles, and spring onions. As many of you know, instant noodles and spring onions are inseparable as spring onions are a must-have ingredient for enjoying a delicious bowl of hot noodles!

You can find detailed information on Tokopedia’s Ramadan trends in the infographic below:

Furthermore, as we’re slowly settling back into our “normal” daily routines, we’d like to highlight the many positive Ramadan habits that we should keep up — and the good news is that it can all be done through Tokopedia!

Donations

We believe that sharing with others is not limited to Ramadan. Even after Ramadan has ended, we can still perform good deeds and share our blessings through Tokopedia’s Donation feature. For example, you can donate to specific campaigns dedicated to food packages for underprivileged people, school essentials for children living in rural areas, and many more. Our trusted partners will send users proof of their donations and update them on the distribution progress.

Prayer Time and Al-Quran

When it comes to praying, being on time and staying on track are always important. To help you, Tokopedia provides a prayer schedule that can easily be accessed on our platform by searching “Jadwal Sholat” in the search bar. You can also turn on prayer reminders so you’ll never miss a time to pray.

And did you know you can easily access the Al Quran on the Tokopedia app? You can still recite the Quran wherever you are, and the feature also allows you to track your progress and bookmark your favorite verses so you can read them again another time.

Fidya

If you missed a day or two of fasting during Ramadan, you can pay your Fidya through Tokopedia. Fidya is paid for deliberately missing a fast with a valid reason to do so; for example, due to illness, old age, or any other reason that prevents you from fasting. The amount you must pay for each missed fast is equivalent to feeding one person.

Waqf

Waqf is when you donate cash or property to a charity for religious causes. The asset you donate will be used to help others and can never be sold, given away, or inherited by anyone. That’s why this is known as Sadaqah Jariyah, meaning that you will continue receiving rewards and blessings even after you have passed on — as long as the asset donated continues to exist.

Today, you can pay your Waqf through Tokopedia and choose the Waqf you prefer, be it building a mosque, an Islamic boarding school (Pesantren), or other forms of donations. Tokopedia’s trusted partners will collect your Waqf and carry out your preferred activity or project.

Qurban

After Ramadan, the next big Muslim celebration is Eid al-Adha in June! As usual, Tokopedia will provide Qurban services so that you can easily buy your Qurban through our platform. After that, we’ll also distribute your Qurban to those in need. If you don’t have the funds yet to buy your Qurban, you can start saving using our investment feature, Dana Impian, which allows you to save through Sharia mutual funds. This feature also performs automatic top-ups based on your preferred time frame and will notify you once your savings goal is met.

So, what do you think? Are you ready to step up your daily routine? Check out all the features now on Tokopedia’s Halal Corner. Also, you can learn more about each feature through light conversations on Topcast, an exclusive Tokopedia Podcast that you can watch below:
