Guide to a Better Life by Eliminating “BUSYNESS” With Dr. Garland Vance

It is 10 minutes to 6:30 pm, your usual work out time, and you are just tired. You just came home exhausted after 9 hours of work, and before you realized, another item on your schedule is up. For years, you believe that the busier you are, the more productive you are. However, recently, you felt demotivated, less interested, or even annoyed of all the commitments that once brought you joy. You forgot when did you start using “I am so busy right now.” as a reply to anyone who asks, “How have you been?” You asked yourself, “When did I start feeling overwhelmed with all the commitment? When is the last time I can smile without worry? When is the last time I felt like I am living my life?”

What does it mean by being “Productive”? To some, it merely means the number of tasks that can be completed within a given time. To others, it may mean the completion of tasks that are impactful and valuable. Franz Kafka, a world-renowned German novelist, once said,

“Productivity is being able to do things that you were never able to do before.”
