Stop Toying With Your Life
Here’s a list to help you (read- me) get your (my) shit together.
- If you want to talk to someone, TALK. Text, write a note, an email, a telegraph, anything. Don’t let your trusted friend give you the talk about the appropriate amount of time to wait between tweet replies.
2. Ask questions without apologizing. For that matter, speak without apologies resonating in your tone (unless you truly were an asshat). Too often we speak with a fear that our words are not worthy. Alas, it is they who reject your words who do not deserve your stringed together syllables.
3. Be honest. For one day, sugarcoat nothing besides your coffee. That means no lies to yourself, either.
4. Laugh in the mirror. Look at yourself, and think of that joke, of JLaw falling at that awards show, of your best friend who did that thing that made you snort. Laugh in the mirror and fall in love with your happiness.
5. Listen to a band with a cool name and be enamored by their least popular song. Appreciate their effort to stick their necks out and TRY something new. Strive to be like the cool band with the look and the edge but not the right sound. It means they’re living and challenging norms and doing them.
6. Find an amazing quote that realigns your life. Live by it. Remember it. Tattoo it on your body, your heart, your loved one’s consciences. Feel it. Meet the one who penned it; pen your own quote.
6. Do more. Do less. Do a man. Do a woman. Do yourself. Do a puzzle. Do lunch. Do dinner. Do your hair. Be.
