IIT Mandi has a elected student body known as “Student Gymkhana” that was established in 2011 and since then it has been instrumental in the growth and development of the Institute and its students through its elected secretaries. Student Gymkhana consists of eight secretaries all organizing collective student activities in their respective spheres.Gymkhana constitutes of four societies currently which consist of different student clubs.
Detailed info about the various clubs and activities is available here: Indian Institute of Technology Mandi. Other than technical/cultural clubs, IIT Mandi has a Hiking and Trekking Club for all trekking enthusiasts.
IIT Mandi is developing quite fast and trying its best to compete with other IITs.
- In 2015, IIT Mandi won bronze medal at 50th Inter IIT Sports Meet in table tennis girls
- In 2015, IIT Mandi grabbed 3rd position at 3rd Inter IIT Tech Meet held at IIT Kharagpur.
- In 2016, IIT Mandi hosted the 4th Inter IIT Tech Meet, in which teams from 10 IITs participated.
- In 2017, IIT Mandi grabbed 4th position at 5th Inter IIT Tech Meet held at IIT Kanpur.
