Digital Declutter, Part 2: Organize Your Photos
It’s Photo Time
Got some extra time on your hands? Let’s take 10 minutes to organize your photos for life. Mylio is a powerful way to collect all your pictures into a single library, automatically organizing them into the visual story of your life. And just in time for Mother’s Day, you can have your entire photo library organized and ready to share with your mom on May 10th. Take a scroll down memory lane together, and relive your past memories. Here’s how…
The Steps
Step 1: Get Mylio
Start by getting Mylio on your computer from mylio.com. Click the [ Get Mylio Free ] button and follow the setup instructions.
Step 2: First Import + First Glimpse!
The setup wizard will help you with your first import. I recommend skipping the sections that ask about Calendar and Vault. When it says, “Let’s build your library,” choose This Computer to add pictures from the device you’re on. Then select a folder where you have photos you want to import. As your photos show up, take a look around! It’s fascinating to see the photos automatically organized into helpful views like Calendar, Map, People, and any folders you’ve already set up. You can also begin tagging friends and family in People View, and Mylio’s face recognition will help you from there.
Step 3: Add More Photos
In Mylio, you can always add more pictures from any source using the Import arrow in the top right. Add from your social media, camera, drives, cloud storage, and other photo services. If your photos are already organized into folders, Mylio saves you time by allowing you to import your entire folder structure! If you haven’t taken the time to organize your files, discover how to organize your folders here.
Step 4: Add a Mobile Device
Next, get Mylio on your phone and tablet. You’ll have complete control of your entire photo library on all of these devices, even without the internet. Once you do, Mylio will automatically add pictures from your mobile camera rolls so you can instantly see them on any of your devices. This saves you time whenever you want to enjoy your photos on a bigger screen (even on another operating system), because you don’t have to worry about transferring them yourself. And you save storage space on your mobile devices, because Mylio optimizes storage there.
Step 5: Explore the Tools
Mylio is your complete workflow. It gives you tools to manage your photos easily and efficiently on any of your devices. Here are just some of the many tools in Mylio’s extensive toolkit, along with links that explain how to get started with them:
- Photo editor
