This is my wife and me on May 1st, 2011 — holding the key to our first house. The market crash had made getting loans really difficult, and everyone told us it would be impossible for us to get anything at all, or that if we did, it would be tiny and in a bad location. So we started looking, and found that everyone was right.

Then we saw a picture of a home we recognized — it belonged to a friend and mentor of mine, who’d lived there for over a decade. We called her and asked her about it. She was hoping to keep it in the family, and dropped the price and took it off the market for 6 months so we could get our finances in order. She also did major repairs to get the 111 year-old house up to snuff for inspection.

Even then, our loan broker said it was impossible, but in the end, with the help of family and friends, we made a miracle happen.

We’re laughing here because my wife Chiyona is twisting the key and making it hard to hold. She loves messing with me to keep me on my toes. My parents are taking the picture, and an amazing life as adults was laid out before us.

Osiris Indriya, Marketing Magus + Master of Influence

Who knew?

  1. I’ve been an electronic dance music DJ and producer for 20 years.
  2. I study and teach ancient mysticism and magick (yes, with a k), and am an initiate in the oral tradition lineage of King Salomon
  3. When I was a kid, I wanted to be an astronaut, but that is only because I didn’t know what a Marketing Magus was.

I like to shoot: Family, or art or events I’ve had a part in producing. My family images are to document our adventures and tell stories. Photos of my creative projects are to document process and product, and to build a community interested in the work I produce. I take family images with my iPhone because it’s handy. My events were taken on a Nikon D80, Canon EOS 7D, and now my DXO-ONE.

My Mylio setup: Six devices — iMac Desktop, USB hard drive (protection), iPhone, iPad, Personal MacBook, Work MacBook Pro — for 20,334 files.

Osiris is Mylio’s Marketing Magus, developing digital communication systems designed to support a thriving Mylio user community. He is a new father, a music producer, and an avid student of the human ability to progress toward awesomeness. More at osirisindriya.com
