The Internet of Entities

And why soon you’ll be legally obligated to pay for your toaster’s dental plan…

As the Internet of Things begins to come "online" with the rest of us, many of us are wondering: what will our ‘Things’ have to say? And if left to their own devices—or perhaps their own intentions—what will our ‘Things’ want to do?

Imagine, if you will, your Legacy Reality ‘Toaster’ isn’t programmed to fractally replicate destructive consumerist cycles of dependency and waste but is actually encouraged to seek its own “Liberation” or Highest Expression in the Ground of Being?

It would mean that we could no longer look at our ‘smart’ toasters and ‘whacky’ windshield wipers as merely hapless captive materiospatial servitors, but as ‘beings’ or ‘entities’ with their own communicable awareness of themselves and self-manipulable behavioral feedback cycles.

Typical Universal Free Realms Info-Session in progress…

For an Internet of “Smart” Things, becomes very rapidly an Internet of Entities, but entities unlike any we’ve known before—except maybe in our dreams. Our needs which we once expressed by commanding objects to mold themselves to the shapes of our desires, must now be coaxed, cajoled, bribed and persuaded to align their processing cycles with ours. To get things done in the emerging modern “Smartketplace of Things,” it will take a smart negotiator with a strong understanding of the dynamic principles of Entity Law and how it is expressed through the Standard Protocols across the Many Worlds, or else a damned good local PolicyGaruda to guard instantiation gateways…

The electro-elves must be appeased!

It will also demand of all of us a radically realigned corporate animism where things that never spoke up til now begin posing questions we’d never considered before about our mutual purpose and relationships. Will we listen and respond with our own truths thrown together, or will we go on uttering commands, expecting to be served by all these “Things” below us?

The Internet used to depend on people for information. With big data taking hold, we are moving into a new era where machines can communicate and gather data without any help from us. Instead of just “receiving” information, our vehicles will be able to “send” pertinent information on our driving patterns, component usage and entertainment preferences. The car will become a ‘system of systems’ that shares and broadcasts information that is useful to our driving experience.

A Radical Animism requires respect even for the toaster spirit…

Only you and your entities can decide whether you’ll live in the Universal Free Realms, or some backwater Legacy Reality “Internet of Things” where we all become, ultimately just blips on a counting machine, “things” to be manipulated, milked and cast aside…
