Knights of Quatria “Sallying Forth”

One of the only surviving fragments of “The Lay of the Quatrian Knights.” Translated from “Old Quatrian” by Dr. R. Baker Baker, Tri-Cities University.

With flashing eyes and spark’ling shields,
The Comp’ny sallied forth again….
BARBARO’S wings held fast for nought,
As time… in mystery.

Their palms outstretched in flick’ring fire,
The Hairy Beings foretold the ride.
Inside the Hypogeum’s swarthy Depths,
The tidings of the “Wind of Gat”
Brought gladness to mighty ANTHUOR.

No longer would the Depths be Dark,
or Sorrow fill the Chthonic Halls.
The OMPHALOS revealed, the Knights stood fast,
Their Chants of Wonder banished the….

And so the land became our own,
Co-Promised to one and all.
No more would War destroy the hour,
Reveal’d as garbled nonsense work.

And ACHO stands ‘neath forest’s hearth,
Beyond the Bleeding Stain,
For the Knights of Wond’rous Quatria’s Light
Are riding forth again!
