It is believed that there are more museums in New York than there are McDonalds. I would not have believed it if I never lived in NYC but having spent some amazing years in this wonderful city, I conclude that New York has some of the finest and most reputed museums in the world. Solomon R. Guggenheim is probably one of the most recognized names in the museum lists around the world but I was not one of those who knew about its reputation. When I first saw the massive structure standing proudly opposite Central Park, I didn’t have much idea about the history it holds inside until I decided to take a look.

Location

Located in the affluent neighborhood of the Upper East Side, this internationally recognized museum of art houses artwork from Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, early modern and contemporary art to present day compilation. Founded on a collection of many masterpieces, the Guggenheim Museum represents an evolving institution devoted to the art of the 20th century and beyond. Among many renowned artists, works by Pablo Picasso and Van Gogh are the main highlights. The architecture of the museum building is very modern and holds significance from years old design and dedication.
