Books are a man’s greatest assets and when one visits the New York Public Library’s main Schwarzman building it is obvious that they will immediately fall in love with the veracious feeling of reading! Libraries don’t necessarily fall under museum category but I don’t mind putting it in my museum list as long as they preserve the past — in this case via books.

Location

Located on Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street, the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building is referred to as the ‘main branch’ in New York City. Considered one of the best libraries in the United States, the NYPL has been a hub for free books, resources, information and education for more than a century. The library is home to one of the world’s largest collection of books and historical records and welcomes book lovers with a beautiful architecture that leaves everyone enthralled. Rose Main Reading Room is the largest reading room in the library where one can spend the day with a single book in hand. The lighting, seating arrangement, design and atmosphere has been essentially worked out to suit the reader’s needs.

Collection

In an ever expanding digital realm, the NYPL provides readers an opportunity to reduce the digital divide, especially for millions of readers who don’t have access to internet
