Thank goodness for patrons of art in the past who took initiatives to preserve some of the best art works ever created. The difference between buying and collecting art is that collection of various art forms is a purposeful directed commitment. It is because of some really famous patrons and their eyes for appreciation that we get to see some of the most magnificent art works ever created.

Location

Another one of the Museum Mile landmarks in New York City — the Frick Collection is one of the most fascinating places I ever visited. Once the residence of Henry Clay Frick, an American industrialist, financier and art patron, the house turned museum houses some of the magnificent collection of art from the great masters of the early centuries — notably Bellini, Rembrandt and Goya among many others.

Collections

One of the few standing mansions in New York City’s 5th ave neighborhood, this museum has a collection of numerous decorative arts, paintings, sculptors, antique furniture and unforgettable memories. Frick was a huge patron of art and over the years collected some magnificent pieces to broaden his collection of historical items.
