Home to over one-fourth of the Emerald Island’s population, Dublin is a dynamic and affluent metropolis that prides itself as a tech leader in Europe. Its welcoming attitude and entrepreneurial spirit has helped to foster an inclusive hub where 39% of the city’s start-ups are female-owned and 40% of company board members are women. With impressive stats like this, it’s no wonder why HubSpot named Dublin the most entrepreneurial city in Europe.

Best of all, the thriving city of Dublin maintains its small-town feel by embracing its rich history, infectious culture, and manageable pace of life. By working remotely with Dropbox in Dublin, you can ditch the lengthy commutes, awkward break room chats, and long lunch lines to maximize your productivity while also joining a community that upholds a healthy work-life balance.

People come to Dublin from all over the world for the craic, a local term for a fun and entertaining time. Here’s a handy guide to help find the best craic that Dublin has to offer.

Work-friendly cafes: kick back, grab a coffee, connect to the free WiFi, and let’s get some work done.

Network Café

  • Home to some of the best coffee in Dublin, Network Café is the ideal place to plug in and get to work. Its sleek and welcoming design offers plenty of spots to work while sipping some exceptional coffee from featured rotating guest roasters. Best of all, this is a pet-friendly cafe, so feel free to bring your four legged cowoofer.

Clement & Pekow

  • This one’s for the tea lovers out there. Sure, Clement & Pekoe offers exceptional coffee, but loose leaf tea is where they really shine. We’re partial to their flagship cafe and retail emporium on bustling South William Street for some of the best people watching in the city.

The Clockwork Door

  • The Clockwork Door is unlike any cafe anywhere. Patrons here pay for the time they spend in one of Clockwork’s many work-themed rooms, as they connect to the free WiFi and enjoy unlimited tea, coffee, biscuits, and access to board games and video games.

It’s happy hour! Well, almost… Great places to grab a pint, hear a few tunes, and close out the workday.

Toner’s

  • Dating back to the early 1800’s, Toner’s is one of the oldest traditional pubs in Dublin. Whether saddling up to Toner’s authentic Victorian bar, or enjoying their spacious beer garden during the summer months, make sure not to skip out on what Rory Guinness of the Guinness family declares “the best pint of Guinness in Dublin”.

The Cobblestones

  • At Cobblestones, the Mulligan family have been playing Irish music for five generations. Come in seven days a week to hear traditional Irish music sessions led by some of Ireland’s best musicians. While enjoying a pint, you’ll see why this pub earned its motto: “A drinking pub with a music problem.”

Against the Grain

  • Looking for something other than Guinness? We won’t judge you. OK, maybe a little. Luckily Against the Grain is the right place for you, with a massive selection of Irish and international craft beers on tap.

Living in Dublin means being surrounded by a rich heritage

St. Patrick’s Cathedral

  • Dating back to 1191, St. Patrick’s Cathedral is Ireland’s largest church. Built in honor of their patron saint, St. Patrick, this church is home to over 200 relics, and is the religious center of Dublin.

Christ Church Cathedral

  • While in the area, stroll over to Christ Church Cathedral, which has called Dublin home for almost 1000 years. It attracts visitors from all over the world for its beauty, community outreach, and Dublin’s best choir. It also is the burial place of Strongbow, leader of the Normans, who captured Dublin in 1170.

St. Stephen’s Green Park

  • Located in the center of Dublin, this park is a calming green oasis in the middle of the bustling city. St. Stephens Green has welcomed visitors for over four centuries. Perfect for that midday break, you can stroll the landscape and take in Irish history immortalized in sculptural monuments.
