The theme of this year’s Pride was ‘Love is ___’, representing the many different forms that love can take. To celebrate and recognize the month, Dropboxers everywhere took up reflective yoga, lip syncing and collage-making, engaged in meaningful discussions on how to be a better ally, and did some marching, too. Here are a look at some highlights.

New York

New York Prideboxers quite literally rung in Pride at Nasdaq. In addition to the honor of ringing the famous closing bell, the New York team held a series of events including Pride trivia and a very glittery happy hour. They also explored the meaning of inclusion through a hands-on crafting and collage workshop.

San Francisco

For the fourth year running, Dropbox was a proud sponsor of San Francisco’s Frameline festival, the largest and most widely recognized LGBTQ+ film exhibition in the world. Along with downright delightful singing workshops and Pridebox yoga, the office hosted a discussion with former executive director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR), Kate Kendall on the state of LGBTQ+ rights in America today. A power outage foiled the original kick-off date for our Pride Party, but the rescheduled event — with rainbow-themed bites from the Tuck Shop, eye-catching costumes, and Dropboxers lip syncing for their life a la RuPaul’s Drag Race — was a memorably colorful blowout.

Dublin

Dropboxers celebrated Dublin Pride with glitz and glamour, kicking the day off with a lively family brunch before making some (well, lots!) of noise in the city’s parade. Attendees danced through the city aboard a disco ball-themed float, which featured a DJ, a wealth of props, and even a built-in catwalk. Earlier in the week, Dropboxers took part in the Pride 5K Run and attended a discussion on allyship.

Tel Aviv

Dropboxers in Tel Aviv honored Israeli’s LGBTQ+ community with a rainbow-themed happy hour. They also took part in the local parade, one of the largest in the world, which wraps around the streets of the city and ends with a giant party on a blue-shored beach.

Austin

Austin celebrated Pride in style with karaoke, a drag brunch, queer-inclusive yoga, and a screening of Rocketman, a new biographical film on the life of gay icon Elton John. On the last Whiskey Friday of the month, Pridebox-ATX took over and gave it a twist with a hairstylist, a spray-painter, and a silent disco.

Seattle

Seattle kicked off Pride with rainbow-themed snacks and swag that Dropboxers could wear to show their support. The office also hosted a talk with Kara Ottewell, a board member from Lesbians Who Tech, who spoke about what it’s like to transition while in the workplace and how to use individuality as a tool. They wrapped things up with a painting event, where people could express pride by decorating planters and tote bags.
