Toronto, Canada’s financial hub, is an international metropolis that literally has something for everybody. Touting the motto “Diversity Our Strength,” Toronto is a cultural and economic powerhouse that few cities can compete with. Half of Toronto’s population was born outside of Canada and more than 140 languages are spoken there every day.

Consistently ranked as one of the most livable cities in the world, Toronto also enjoys a reputation as a city that prioritizes livability. With 50 kilometers of waterfront parks and trails, a dynamic job market, one of the world’s best food scenes, and free healthcare, Toronto is the ideal place for remote workers to prioritize a healthy work-life balance within a big city.

Work friendly cafes: kick back, grab a coffee, connect to the free WiFi, and let’s get some work done.

Merchants of Green

  • Merchants of Green Coffee isn’t just one one the best cafes to work remotely, it’s also a source of inspiration for coffee houses with a mission. All of the coffee served here is sourced from certified green coffee beans that are both fair trade and organic. Plus, all sales directly support their flagship coffee program to restore forests to offset coffee’s carbon footprint and mitigate climate change.

Dineen Outpost

  • Is Dineen the most beautiful place to work remotely in Toronto? Probably, but let’s keep this secret between us. Dineen offers a bright, sleek workspace with stellar coffee, and plenty of artisanal baked goods to keep you going throughout the day.

Jimmy’s Coffee

  • Jimmy’s Coffee is the gold standard for reliably cozy and approachable cafes. Now with three locations in Toronto, Jimmy’s is the perfect spot to plug in, sip some expertly made espresso, and log those hours.

No wonder Toronto is a foodie destination

St. Lawrence Market

  • Located in historic Old Town, St. Lawrence Market has served as Toronto’s social center, City Hall, and marketplace for over 200 years. The St. Lawrence Market rightly deserves its praise as one of the best food markets in the world. It’s got more than 140 vendors, including artisans and specialty food purveyors, restaurants, a farmers’ market, and cooking classes for all ages and abilities. And don’t forget to check out the Market Gallery with rotating exhibits dedicated to Toronto’s art, culture, and rich history!

Kensington Market

  • It’s almost as if Kensington Market was created just for foodies. This neighborhood is located in downtown Toronto, and puts their city’s multicultural identity on full display through a rich cornucopia of food options. It’s got everything from Vietnamese and Jamaican, to Ethiopian and Venezuelan. Make sure to explore the neighborhood’s non-food offerings, like funky vintage shops, independent boutiques, and artists’ studios, many of which are housed in stunning Victorian style homes.

Toronto’s public spaces are top notch

High Park

  • Is there a more perfectly maintained inner city park in North America? If so, we haven’t found it yet. High Park is Toronto’s largest public park, encompassing over 400 acres of manicured lawns, themed gardens, and untouched nature. Perfect for all seasons, this park has swimming pools, a zoo, tennis courts, skating rinks, playgrounds, dog parks, and plenty of walking trails.

Toronto Music Garden

  • Located in Toronto’s Harbourfront neighborhood, the Toronto Music Garden offers free classical performances from around the world during the summer. It also offers great views of the CN Tower!

Scarborough Bluffs Park

  • This majestic stretch along Lake Ontario offers a nine-mile collection of cliffs known as the Scarborough Bluffs. Home to 11 different parks, this region offers some of Toronto’s best hiking trails. Sure, you may get a little winded, but you’ll thank us when you get to the scenic views as you look over the lake from atop the bluffs.
