“Hi everyone, I am back!’

Courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to act in spite of fear! Harrish Sairaman

Dearest readers, as most of you know, I went away the past couple of weeks to bury my beloved mother, who passed away a couple of months ago. During the celebration of life, as my family and I chose to refer to her funeral, many things were said of this amazing being who was my mother, including the widely-held agreement by adults and children alike that she was ‘an Icon of Peace.’

The one other observation made about my mother that’s worth mentioning was that she was “uniquely, unquestionably, and unapologetically authentic.” In other words, she was not afraid to be who she was. Many believed that my mother achieved her life purpose on earth, they also said she was able to do so because she allowed herself to be “real.”

That observation is the reason for my little penmanship this evening.

Uniquely, unquestionably, unapologetically authentic.

Someone once said that every sliver of fear requires a giant slab of courage. Meaning, to achieve true non-apologetic self-acceptance courage is required.

In sending off my mother I learned one more thing about this unique woman who birthed me. I learned that she was courageous!

And so as I resume after several weeks of silence, I will be opening with an interview about courage. So, watch out for the incredibly moving interview featuring James (Ifedayo) Piro: a man who embodies courage in all of its glory. Until then…

Here’s wishing you God’s beauty for the evening…
