What Does The Spirit of God In Bhagavad Gita Say About Controlling Lustful Sexual Desires And Leading a Pure Life Of Celibacy Without Any Attachment And impurities?
How does leading a pure life of celibacy voluntarily, free from sexual indulgence in thought, words and deed help a spiritual aspirant to reach higher states of mind?
It is pertinent to mention here that a house holder may have sex with with his or her partner during the initial phase of marriage to beget children, and later in his or her life adopt a life of celibacy to lead a pure spiritual life.
Bhagavad Gita says that a self-controlled man or woman has to lead a pure life of celibacy or Brahmacharya to enter into an exalted state of God-consciousness.
The Gita verse says that the person should be free from all passions and attachment.

यदक्षरं वेदविदो वदन्ति
विशन्ति यद्यतयो वीतरागा: |
यदिच्छन्तो ब्रह्मचर्यं चरन्ति

Lord Sri Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita in Chapter 8: “I shall declare to you that Supreme state, which the knower’s of the Vedas describe as imperishable. — Desiring to enter that exalted state, the self-controlled ascetics freed from all passions and attachment, lead a pure life of celibacy (free from any sexual defilement in thoughts, words and deed).”

Brahmacharya or celibacy means ‘Brahman or the Spirit of God’ and ‘charya’ is conduct, meaning one whose conduct is pure like the Spirit of God.
A pure mind has no scheming thoughts of sensual enjoyments and worldly distractions; and encroachment on your space by others.
It is important that the celibacy should be taken up voluntarily to observe the spiritual discipline. — A forced celibacy will lead to sexual perversions.
Patanjali’s Yoga sutra says that by following celibacy one develops a dislike for any bodily touch by others.
Another reason is that sex makes a person dependent upon his or her partner which takes away the basic freedom and puts a limitation on the individual.
Anything which becomes a habit and a necessity puts a limitation on a human being. — Slavery to enjoyment of sex can pollute the mind; and social media and society assigns a false and exaggerated value to sex.
Sex is a biological instinct inherent in all living creatures and one has to go beyond the lure of sex to reach the portals of God-consciousness.
A short story in the form of a parable explains this point.
Young spiritual aspirants in an ashram were celibates and very ardent in their disciplined life of meditation and devotion to God. Over the years with single-minded practice of Yoga meditation, they attained an exalted status of mind and intellect, and were held in high esteem by the people who visited the ashram.
Visitors thronged to the ashram to receive their advice and blessings. Seeing this ruling king got worried, and asked these celibates to meet him at his palace. But these celibates refused to go there, and told the messenger to tell the king to meet them in the ashram if the king was so interested in meeting them.
After consultation with his group of ministers, the king arranged marriages of these young celibates with beautiful young girls. From there on, the king did not have to send for them. They would come to the king every now and then of their own accord, without being called.
They would say to the king, “Your majesty, we have come to seek your blessings for the rice-taking ceremonies of our babies, and for building a small house, and so on for other favours.” — -Being house holders now, they always had the need of money and other material things, which were never e
