Some little-known facts about the World Kitchen.
1. Noodles & Company founder, Aaron Kennedy, just might be the most interesting person in the world.
Aaron founded Noodles in 1995 after being inspired by a Thai noodle shop in New York City. He realized that noodles and pasta are ubiquitous in global cuisine, and decided to start a restaurant that served great noodles fast. Before Noodles, Aaron worked as a brand manager with Oscar Meyer and helped develop and launch the Lunchables brand. Aaron left Noodles in 2008, but during his tenure Noodles was honored to be inducted into the Inc. 500 Hall of Fame for being one of the top 500 fastest-growing companies in the country 5 times. Aaron’s exploits don’t stop there, he even served as the Chief Marketing Officer for the state of Colorado, and currently sits on the boards of several companies in myriad industries.
2. 66% of our managers have been promoted from within.
This measure includes all General Managers and Assistant General Managers in the system as of July 26th, 2017. If you work hard and show initiative, there is no reason you can’t go from being a team member to a General Manager in a relatively short time.
3. 80% of our locations are owned and operated by the company itself.
Lots of restaurants sell franchise agreements to local operators, and so does Noodles in select markets, but the vast majority of our locations are “corporate” locations.
4. We were a part of J.J. Watt’s pregame routine in high school.
We can’t take the credit for his success, of course, but we are honored that he name dropped us in his recent interview for The Player’s Tribune, where he mentioned he and his friends would frequent their local Noodles before their high school football games. We hope we are still on of his list of favorites.
