For the Love of Noodles: Darcy’s Story

Behind the tasty dishes and welcoming dining experience, there is another world of flavors (personalities) Life @ Noodles seeks to uncover. We turn this week to Darcy, our HR data systems guru who has been an essential part of the Noodles team since 2015. Darcy unveils her story of what it means to be a Noodler:

Noodles is one of the only companies I’ve worked where the stated values are truly considered when making decisions. One of our values is “We Love Life.” This value encourages us to be ourselves and to bring our personalities into our restaurants and office. I like to show up to work in my jeans because when I feel comfortable I find it easier to focus on work. I get to be myself here and do my best work.

Another value we hold is “We Show Pride.” We are urged to be relentless in delivering a superior guest experience and to creatively solve problems and remove obstacles. Our roles here aren’t strictly defined and I’ve been able to use my skills and abilities to help out on projects that wouldn’t necessarily fall under my purview.

A third value is “We Care.” We care about each other and recognize that we’re all human beings with lives outside of work. I’m allowed flexibility to deal with personal situations, which has been a huge help since parenting teenagers has required more involvement than I would have ever imagined (until I stop to think about how hard I was on my parents at that age!). I’m so grateful that when I need to focus on my kiddos I don’t have to feel stressed about work.

Our final value is “We Are Passionate.” I love the work I do, and I love supporting the operators who are the people bringing in the money that funds my paycheck. I always feel very appreciative when I can speak to our operators and hear how passionate they are about our team members, our food, our guests, and our communities.
